After about 20 plays, this deck has about a 75% winrate against the entire field, including wins against Vader/Raider and Unkar/Nines, which is cool because it's Krennic and by all accounts, this shouldn't work.

How thoroughly have I tested this deck, you ask? At one point I slotted AT-ST. You know, just to check. That's dedication. Have you tested AT-ST in YOUR deck? Can you really even say that you've tested your deck?

For the record, AT-ST actually made for a pretty fun game (note that I did not say "games") when I actually got it on the table, but you're already aware that AT-ST didn't make the list because you already looked at the list didn't you? You clever Destiny player, you. Now look at the list again.

Now look back at me.

Look at the list.

Andddd back to me. Okay let's talk about the deck, which breaks down into two game phases.

1. Phase 1- Director Krennic: Cruel, But A Goober

Look, this is a big character deck. Krennic's gonna be gone round 2, round 3 at the most, which means we're going to capitalize on the goober while he's still attending our party. Your ideal opening hand looks like this...

Wingman, We Have Them Now, Lockdown, The Best Defense, Tactical Mastery

Winning the rolloff with a hand similar to the above means you pick Secret Facility and the deck is business as usual.

If you do not win the rolloff, most of the time you put the shields on the Death Trooper and use The Best Defense to skate out of round 1 mostly intact, you big ol' goober you. Round 2, use Tactical Mastery (since you only spent one credit the first round, you goob) to set up We Have Them Now for fun and profit. No one is playing blowout removal like Dodge anymore, so We Have Them Now is at least six damage, virtually every time, and usually more.

If your opponent is silly enough to give you the battlefield, this thing really plays itself. Get your dice in the pool and set up a We Have Them Now play. This deck has a shot against anything if it can get ahead of the damage curve early with We Have Them Now.

If you get the feeling that your opponent is going to claim early, keep a Lockdown around. Nothing feels worse than taking the battlefield back after a claim and getting in 6-8 more damage on rerolls after their turn is over. If the game threatens to go longer, Bombing Run and Imperial Inspection should keep them in line. The amount of disruption this pair can keep up is more than capable of being demoralizing.

2. Phase 2- The Goober Is Dead, Wear The Goober's Cape

The key from this point forward is to imagine that your Death Trooper is decked out. He should have Training and a gun on him, and honestly if you want to have any actual chance of winning you should have it in your head that he swiped Krennic's ballin' cape as he died. You are now a Death Trooper with a cape. You are the pinnacle of style and in theory you still have that second We Have Them Now to close out the game. Go get 'em, tiger.

AND NOW FOR SOME Q&A

Q: Hey German, this deck isn't that great. What do?

A: I'm glad you noticed! This deck kinda sucks- my unusual win rate has mostly been from the surprise factor. That said, the Goober is better than he first appears, and this deck is a blast to play. He's got a really unique and balanced design, with his non-damage sides being a fantastic consolation for when your aggro doesn't go according to plan. The cardpool is, however, seriously holding him back. The shell here is solid, and when mono-red expands a bit in future sets to include more removal, it could bump up to Tier 1. It's got wonderful potential, but at the moment, I've slotted the only real removal worth slotting in this context and it's not enough. Until Red Villain gets more options, it's best to just commit fully to the aggro plan and sprint to the finish. With some more control cards, Krennic, and this list, will get better.

Q: What cards go first when this deck gets better removal options?

A: Battle Formation and Bombing Run. As a side note, I'd also love to find room for Collateral Damage, which has been in and out of this list quite a few times.

Q: What's the worst thing that's ever happened to you with this deck?

A: The one game I played with AT-ST, a buddy of mine Chewie specialed it to the 5 side when I had no resources left. It was just Death Trooper at that point and none of his weapons had resource sides, either. Maybe the worst feeling play I've ever had done to me. You'll notice, as previously remarked upon, that AT-ST is no longer here...

Q: What about Suppression/Better Cards/etc.?

A: I threw Doubt in. What do you want from me?

Tried a very similar gimmick with Squad Tactics and a couple Tie Pilots. I should've gone full goober instead.
