you must be trolling...

EdgySithLord 132

@emogeddon No?

Then your playing against some bad teams or players

EdgySithLord 132

@Focus Ninja I don’t get the hate? The extra resource you get it crazy good and you can do some real burst damage with all the ambush/Maz.

I’ve had some really close games that came down to the wire, I was just able to finish. I haven’t played against any “bad players.”

TROLLING.

I Also do not understand why there's some troll stuff going when the list isn't looking troll...

I like new teams and gamplays, and this one seems very intereting!

But I do have to agree I do not understand how good your list is :) Very few upgrades, no plots when you're at 27pts (profitable connections?), and lots of events + infamous to quicken your actions when you already have Maz who's speed-light quick !

I really see some planetary uprising cards, plaza battlefield to play with fin's special or frozen wastes which practically does the same than carbon freeze but more efficient since you can mitigate an annoying die, and a little more upgrades to build up the board!

Also i'm not sure for the second chance since only Maz can have it, and when Finn is down, i guess it's a lot harder...

X-8, E-11, holdout might be some cards you would look at because redeploy, good damage, ambush that would replace some cards you play for more speed.

Last thing, the mitigation you have is correct, not much to say!

Keep up tweaking the list, and hope you post the evolution :)

Best ignore the lemmings @EdgySithLord.

I´d say that this is Obi/Maz with bigger gunz. With a big aber, and that´s a big one, that Finn's die is much more reliable than Obi´s. The clever thing is that Hero red/yellow has the best survivability out there and you barely need help doing damage as Finn hits like a truck by himself. Yet you have the comfort to bring the huge guns that complement Finn so well and the resources you need.

That´s a good space to be in. Well spotted.

Lemming here:

First of all, not putting Profitable Connection in the deck list is on you - you need to make sure it's complete before you publish - that's part of the misunderstanding.

Smuggler's Run and Hit and Run and Quick Draw? I don't think you're getting the most out of Smugglers Run in particular in this deck - only 2 upgrades even have resource sides to up the odds on the card, and Maz only has one resource side have one resource side. It's like 33% to get a resource - is it worth the slot over say Maz's Vault?

Long Con is a long combo that nets you three resources with no recursion of it or way to get any additional benefit that toss to reroll out of the first card.

Your plan is to generate a crapton of resources, roll and resolve your dice as fast as possible and claim - why no Planetary Uprising? You don't have a ton to spend those resources on, and no re-deploy for when Finn goes down.

We're in the heart of regional testing - to question records of decks is not out of line. What decks has it beaten? You've gone 17-0, there is literally nothing you'd want to change?

I'm not saying it doesn't have merit - but it feels like it falls down the path of trying to do one thing REALLY well and then doing too much of it (a trap my initial builds fall into.) 6 cards that let you activate characters and get something else out of it, that's 20% of your deck. I'm sure there are mitigation cards that you can add and also chew up some of the resources your plan is to be swimming in.

That´s not lemming, that´s good advice (and obviously is neither the track record nor the current iteration optimized). The point is the pairing (with the event); it lets you start with the possibility to deploy one of the big 3-cost guns T1 for zero cost 10 damage at best. Not bad.

EdgySithLord 132

Profitable connection is in this deck, so I apologize for excluding that here. That’s my mistake.

@earnan21 I appreciate your feedback. There are certaIinly ways to optimize this deck and I certainly plan on doing just that. I’ve been doing so well and have been having so much fun I thought I’d just post what I’ve been using here.

@Fresck Profitable is in here I just forgot to add it here. Thank you for the suggestions as I will certainly look into it.

@Scactha Thanks for the feedback! I like Finn a lot more than Obi-Wan in this pairing.

You open yourself up to a lot of criticism when you post a big undefeated record - I'm still curious what decks this is beating. Particularly right now, for competitive players, we're in the middle of Regional season so there is a pretty clear list of top decks.

I'm not saying it's not a fun deck, or that it's not doing well - but information on what it is beating is key. I had great Magic decks back in the day, totally undefeated.... against my little brothers big green creature deck. :)

JediOutcast316 27

Look don't let people try to tear you down. If it is undefeated then good for you, keep going. You really don't have to prove anything, but showing the decks it has beaten will give you alot of points as it shows the deck can handle against the "meta", which isn't defined as there's alot of variety. I definitely would find a place for uprisings as this deck seems to hit hard and fast giving you that claim time. I've been wanting to make a Finn deck for awhile and this is an idea I'll try out for sure.

@earnan21 "we're in the middle of Regional season so there is a pretty clear list of top decks." Not so sure about that; the list of top 8 finishing decks seems to change every single weekend. I think the meta is more wide open now than it's been since I've started playing.

@EdgySithLord I you that this deck is kicking ass, but I do think there is some chaff in there. Long Con Smuggler's Run both don't seem great to me, and a couple others are borderline.

Have you thought of doing Planned Explosion? You could slide it in with a Resistance Bomber and Locked and Loaded and I think hit the planned pretty consistently. A friend was playing a similar Finn deck versus me and it was a terror even when it didn't hit the planned.

Things I'd personally change:

A strong argument could also be made for pulling the Auto Cannon, but I love that card.

I'd love to find room for Sudden Impact and/or Salvo, but I'm not sure it's possible without losing the soul of the deck.

Now the critique part - If you lose Infamous to a Vandalize it's going to hurt the game plan. The field of choice is a big risk. It's terrifyingly low on health, and could be subject to blowout plays from OTK or Sabine/Whatever on turn 1.

Its incredible how serious people take this game enough to bash another player on a published list. No wonder no one wants to play card games with communities like this. Truly amazing.
