So here we have my Low Dice variant of the popular Luke/Ackbar deck, which has been dubbed "Skybar" by a few folks in the Knights of Ren Discord channel.

It aims to use Luke's excellent dice, along with the superior Hero damage mitigation to outlast your opponents and win a battle via attrition and Riposte.

Force Training is our first upgrade, and is chosen because it has no character color requirements, has an excellent special, and a solid die.

Jedi Robes is here for it's 2 cost, and it's 2 shields turn 1. This and Force Training are what we're using our mulligan for most of the time.

Lightsaber because Lightsaber.

Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber is in as a one of - it's an amazing card, but the limit of one in play at a time, combined with the cost relegates it to one of status.

Rey's Staff same as Luke's Saber above, except with a slightly better cost and slightly worse die.

Survival Gear Great die with no blanks, Multiple shield sides to add to the damage mitigation of the deck. Easy include here.

All In the spike damage card of the deck. If you roll out Ackbar with his 2 focus side, resolve this for an easy 6+ damage if all your dice are in the pool. Additionally helps us claim the battlefield more often.

Defensive Stance 2 Shields, 1 cost. Easy include with our overall theme of damage mitigation.

Dug in 1 cost, 3 Shields where we want them. We intend to claim the battlefield a lot here, so another easy include.

Field Medic Healing! Doesn't get much better than this for mitigation of damage.

Heroism a solid 0 cost card for making sure damage goes on shields and not directly on characters. Also one of the flex slots in the deck if you're not super fond of the card.

Leadership One card, huge potential. This is the reason that Skybar exists. Rolling Luke in twice can have massive effect on the game state. Best done on a turn where your opponent has already claimed so you can be sure to swing the 6+ damage coming off of Luke.

Riposte Since we generate a lot of shields, sometimes more than we need, we can also toss said shields to do damage!

Return of the Jedi Brings back Riposte, Willpower, Use The Force, and [Defensive Stance] (/card/01115) for additional uses. Additionally, the second flex slot in the deck if there's something else you'd prefer.

Use The Force Dice fixing at it's finest.

Willpower the final card in our mitigation suite, it adds an element of unblockable damage to our attrition deck.

FAQ:

Q: Only 10 dice worth of upgrades? A: Correct. I find the issue with a lot of the Skybar variants is you end up with way more upgrades than you can ever hope to play. Additionally you often find yourself without the resources to play some of the excellent mitigation available to Hero.

Q: What do you mulligan for? A: Usually Force Training, Jedi Robes or Survival Gear. Heroism if I can (But not if I don't have at least one upgrade in hand)

Q: What decks is this build good against? A: Anything that uses damage as it's primary win condition. That's about 75% to 80% of the meta right now. It's particularly good against Jango/Veers.

Q: What decks is this build bad against? A: It can struggle some against discard based control builds like Vader/eJabba and Ackbar/Padme. The trick in these matches is to Riposte early, and often.
