This was the deck I ended up building and using at the pre-release event. I bought both starter packs and opened 8 boosters. I was a bit bummed at first when my first character I opened was another First Order Stormtrooper, but soon realised how useful this could be when I also ended up opening Captain Phasma and Jango Fett. As much as I wanted to make a phasma and double trooper deck, I didn't have enough red cards or a second dice for phasma. Luckily, a friend of mine was able to lend me a second dice for jango, and I was able to make a decent ranged based deck from that.

I realised the deck is instantly a bit slower due to having 3 characters affecting the action economy, event with Squad Tactics. So I decided that I wouldn't try and make it a race to claim the battlefield like everyone else was. So instead, I have a tonne of dice removal cards, and ended up taking that game slow. I would attach upgrades onto characters early in the round, and start rolling dice. In earlier rounds I cashed in credits as early as possible to pay for removal cards. Then I would sit back, allow my opponent to gather a bunch of damage rolls, then use removal like Block or Flank (I would have to keep a trooper still standing for that). Once they have finished, and likely claimed the battlefield, they wouldn't have managed to get much damage through to me, and I would finish rolling any troopers I hadn't exhausted yet, and discard re-rolling to get a massive damage score and hit them back. If for some reason they hadn't claimed the battlefield, then I would occasionally find it useful to retrieve a copy of used Infantry Grenades that had been discarded after using their special. (assuming that we were using the Starship Graveyard ).

Using this strat, I was pretty consistent in dealing 6+ damage each round, whilst they would only be able to get about 2 through on average. I suppose you could say that this was a proto-control deck. With a bit of work I could probably really improve upon this strat. I Would want to remove the Flame Thrower in favour of a ranged weapon, maybe another Holdout Blaster. I also wasn't impressed by On the Hunt and Probe. I would probably replace them with 2x Sweep the Area and a single Underworld Connections.

The long plan is to obviously gather enough good red cards to replace jango with phasma, but thats probably going to become a completely different deck.

Let me know what you think and if you would make any improvements! :)

Flamethrower is horrible in this deck. Get a jetpack for ranged dmg and melee mitigation. Id consider removing squad tactics as thats far more useful in a storm swarm. Why even bother with Jango when all your bringing is a flamethrower , 2x upredictable, scramble and on the hunt. Yellow support cards are some of the best in the game. My kind of scum with outposts is amazing. Scrap this deck on release and never look back.

@Kadzuk As mentioned in my description, this deck is only running jango because I don't have enough red and neutral cards to run phasma instead just yet. This was built using a limited selection of cards from both intro packs and 8 booster packs. Nice shout on the jetpack though. I wanted to replace the flamethrower with something and that seems perfect.
