This deck is an experiment in how to play the game revolvimg around healing aspects. With dual Guardians, Willpower, Plastoid Armor, Inner Strength, and Field Medic it is exceptionally hard to kill any of these characters.

Usually my first turn setup is to hard mulligan for a chance cube. After that is about piling on the shields and plastoids while getting redeploy guns onto kanan. Usually the opponent will gl for one of the troopers (whichever one guardians first) then I start the long slog for them by plastoiding and Inner Strength to keep healing then moving damage around.

Fortuitous Strike and Rebel Assault are 2 cards that really create unique issues. Getting rid of something like a crime lord special out of nowhere is great. Fortuitous is a great card for this deck because both Troopers and the Redeploy guns have 3 range damage sides.

Looks cool! I want to try it.

@Manzanita9 By all means let me know how it goes!

Looks like a fun deck. Think i'll try this tomorrow at q4

joelker41 174

Hope you do! LMK how it does!

@joelker41 to few guys showed to really hold the event. Only 4 of us. we played a cheap you play him then winners play and losers go Lost to new rey new poe and beat a Magna guard eBala eBazine deck i like it a lot. might stick with it for a while and see where it gets me

Good to hear!

@joelker41. Love the deck concept! Played something close to it, added a rocket launcher, OWTF, logistics, C3PO, , force misdirection, and rearm. Took out out chance cube, fortuitous strike, Rebel assault ( really wish I had this in there), deflects ( wish I had these too), and the mandalorian armor.

Went 7-3 with only losse against Sabine Ezra. Inner peace was too slow for me, and OWTF was too expensive/ restrictive. Double guardian was amazing, and had really sweet force misdirection going. I think I'm going to tweak back in some of the cards you had and keep playing this for a bit!

Sweet @BLTT! Great to hear!

Putting in Overkill was my best way to get cheap great damage in. Just make sure you only force misdirection blue dice, which is why I didn't have it in there. Thanks for the report!

I feel like sound the alarm is slightly opposed to the guardian mechanic here...any one else discover that or is it helping as a last ditch effort?

joelker41 174

@Manzanita9 you can definitely adjust to your liking. I had it in there because oftentimes the best way around guardian decks is a God roll. Those happen to me a lot and it helps upset that.

Forcing them to reroll 2 black asides in a modified then eating the black side later had help.

BLTT 1

@Manzanita9 I run voice cry out instead of sound the alarm (which I don't run because I don't have the 2-player set). I find it really helps a lot when there is just too much out there to guardian away.

@joelker41 Got a few more games in and I modded the deck to be even closer to what you have listed. dropped the chance cube and the plastoid armor(were you slotting this on the rebel troopers?) so that I could have more upgrade slots just devoted to weapons, dropped my rocket launcher and OWTF as too expensive. Still didn't find room for deflect, but I put spirit of rebellion and a copy of Rend in to lower the overall deck cost. Fortuitous Strike is a must.

Sabine / Ezra seems is easily the toughest matchup I've played against. I'm 2-3 against those characters. Her ability to play a card with ambush from the discard and resolve dice before there is a chance to guardian is really tough to deal with. I've had my best luck trying to knock out Ezra first to get rid of some dice, but it's still rough.

Overall 10-3 running these guys, but I haven't played against a QuiGon shield deck or eKylo-Greivous yet.

Plastoid Armor is there to turn one or both guardians onto more health. I've first turn double plastoid armor and cautioned one into a 12 health monster off a bad draw.

Went 3-1 (3rd in a 15 person) in my first event with the deck.

Won round 1 vs Han/Rey. Relatively close gane but I burned down Han turn 3 and he couldn't get the damage out with Rey to catch up.

Lost round 2 to Lukas with his Padawan/K2SO. K2S0 kept rolling damage like a mother and his reset off Bestow killed a trooper off without any interference from me. I had him down to 8 health and dead Padawan but his 3 sides kept hitting and the Light Bow special.

Round 3 won vs Jyn and Ezra. Kept the damage going out for first 3 rounds and burned down Jyn through cycling 2nd chances.

Won last round vs Jango/eBala/Bazine. I rolled virtually no damage first 2 rounds but Caution, Willpower, Medic, and Inner Strength kept me alive long enough to kill Bala then Jango for the win.

Went 2-2 in another event. Rolled terrible in the 2 games I lost and noticed the deck didn't have enough black sides. Thinking of putting Training into the deck to give me more black sides and the Trooper die is good enough to have an extra of as they really don't have bad sides. I'm going to do some testing then try it again.

allenirish66 3

so im going to try this again at tomorrows Q4 Ive removed both Chance Cubes and replaced them with Honor guard and Lukes Protection and lost a holdout Blaster and added a Feint for the Troopers

allenirish66 3

Ran this today.....well lets just say in two consecutive hands i had i had 5 and 6 dice removed by Feel your Anger. yeah thats how the day went

joelker41 174

I dropped Overkill for Training. It works much better. Getting more black sides is huge.

Been running this st my FLGS nights and so far I’m 6-2. Losses came to poe2/Sabine (thermal detonators are fun) and r2p2 (that Poe focus is so constant it seems.) So far I’m running this identical but I think there really might be a good use for force illusion in here.
