This version of Yoda/Padme was created after a tough evening of playtesting where the original version which was basically a vehicle/mod deck got beaten up badly. It really struggled against the new Palp when he was paired with Watto which i suspect might be one of the best iteration of Palp decks we see. It became clear during the evening that with the low heath pool against vehicle decks and the time it took to get set up with your own vehicles that the deck needed a drastic rethink. It needed to get faster or the opponent needed to be slowed and it needed to start targeting specific characters. The Downgrades became a must have coupled with some events which allowed you to either damage your opponent before he could react or to get maximum effect from Padme's dice. This in turn had the effect of forcing the opponent onto the back foot and having to react to what you do as opposed to you worrying about him. You could now outrace quick damaging decks like the new Phasma/FOS ones. What was clear now was that if Padme died so did the deck. Yoda was an effective helper but couldnt sustain the deck. The additions of the Jumps/Pulls and the one Wave meant he had a toolbox to allow him to stand and fight if Padme got blown away.

So far the deck has proved really effective. Its susceptible to being milled but you will at least get time to react if you can get a Hampered or even both out on the table. Because the deck is pretty quick you will get chance to claim a fair bit. Thats a huge boost to the deck if you happen to have your own battlefield out as you now have extra mitigation or some maniplulation.

Im really pleased with how its worked out. I dont think this will be the best way to play Yoda/Padme and im sure far better players than me will soon sort that out. I am not even sure how good Yoda/Padme will be. Its something people saw to start with and thought they went together. I do think this version is suprising tho because i believe people looked at them and figured vehicles/mods straight away just as i did. I just think there are some really bad matchups for that deck and there is a better way to play that particular combo of characters.

Why are you running 2x Padmé Amidala's Royal Starship if you've got an armored reinforcement to pull it out? It seems that this would make you susceptible to a Flames of the Past for no reason? I would consider swapping 1x of them for another Force Wave to make sure that Yoda - Wizened Master is as threatening as can be!

Im going to try taking one out. My concern is not so much the Flames but it being removed. Its such a good card and so powerful and i watched helpedless as Palp made me send it backto my hand and then make me discard it. Im inclined to run Reconstruct as i can get it back without having a copy in a discard pile so that could be a target for Flames.
