At the start of the game, try to mulligan for Niman, Darksaber or Shien, and a resource-gain event. You won't be able to play your 4-cost at round 1 but you will be ready at round 2. Activate vader first hoping to get a 2 resource side. If you don't, you can play niman to turn his die into a 2 resource or if you have No Good To Me Dead and rolled a 2/3 melee, you can damage the enemy, use NGTMD and play Shien or Darksaber. Shien will roll itself right away, with all good die sides (hope for a 2 resource side for playing Darksaber in round 2 right away)

Early Darksaber (has a die side of 3 resources) or Shien (2 res) can help your early resource problems.

Playing 2x of both Niman Mastery and Shien Mastery will never result to dead cards. They can be used as a replacement for itself in the late game, to trigger their after playing effects.

Darksaber and Darth Vader's Lightsaber are your main damaging upgrades, one has +2 value and one can return Vader's die into the pool after use.

When Vader dies and redeploys Darksaber to the Pyke Sentinel, using Dark Ritual to revive him and using Pyke's Guardian ability to kill himself will return Darksaber back to Vader. Darth's Meditation Chamber helps lessen the damage by Dark Ritual.

Darth Vader's Meditation Chamber will be a healing and drawing machine to find removal or important upgrades. Because of your limited dice, you should start the round using this to be able to maximize the card drawn.

Due to having less dice than other team compositions, Fear and Dead Men and Draw Closer will help your damage output to be still on par.

Well-Connected is a good resource-gain card for Vader-Retribution. You will not have a problem making enemies draw cards because you'll even hope they'll draw and use removal for you to be able to use Vader's power action and ping 1 with Retribution
