This is a version of Unkar/thrawn that uses zero dice-upgrades. The idea is to blank all of your opponents dice removal and mtigation, while pursuing a game plan that is very hard to disrupt.

The goal should be to dismantle your opponents hand and keep their damage low by removing dice, preferably after they reroll. Claiming is a priority. If you dont have any actions that mitigate damage, you should try to stock up on ressources.

At some point you get to play a big buy out or two, and the you just have to focus your energy on discarding their hand.

I have no idea if detention center is as hard to play around as i think, but no matter what it removes two character dice for 3 ressources and a card, which seems pretty fair. But i imagine it can do some work, combined with the suite of dice removal in the deck. Especially an early Prized Possesion should set you up for some disgusting bullshit.

I really like this idea, have you tested this on TTS?

I would at least consider a copy of The Best Defense.

@freakshow808 I have not, sadly. This is an attempt to figure out which cards i need to collect in real life, and is purely theorycrafting from my side. If you have access to TTS and a bit of time on your hands i would love to hear your feedback.

I might take this for a ride tomorrow. Looks like a very affordable way to play Thrawnkar. Maybe not the strongest, but I will have a go at it!

@JazzVoxel2 I am still not sold on Coercion. I think I would sub in Lying in Wait in its place. Maybe even Persuade.

@DarthSharnI have no experience with coercion, but i imagine that it can be back-breaking. Like forcing your opponent to use The Best Defense... on their own dice, or burning a clutch Leadership. Even if it is just discard any event for 1 ressource, it doesnt seem too bad? Of course there will be times when their event actually does something for them. But it still lets me control what move they make.

Lying in Wait cant be right. Because of the character actions, no upgrades and generally no reason to reroll, you will never have fewer cards in hand than your opponent. Persuade i think is an excellent suggestion. Since they wont have many rerolls, its almost just hard removal. Right now i would say it is card number 31 and 32 in this deck.

@Knarvorn My main motivation for drafting up this idea is that i really dont believe that blackmail and crimelord are good cards. So i would love to hear your experience with the deck, if you do try it out. Otherwise i will update the deck when we get our Destiny products in my part of the world :)

@JazzVoxel2I am sold on this deck. I am no longer unsure about Coercion. Nothing like not rolling in your dice yet and catchingvthem with an Overconfidence in hand after they have rolled in their eMace or forcing them to rend their own cards. One of the things I have found is try to get an early Prized Possession. If you can get that and Detention Center going it is only a matter of time before you can put another check in the win column.

@DarthSharn Thats great to hear! I would love to hear more about your experience with the deck. For instance, do you think we should find room for a second prized possession, even if it will be redundant some times?

I did make some minor changes: -1 Fall Back, -2 Probe, +1 Doubt, +2 Persuade.

@JazzVoxel2I finally suffered my first loss with this deck and it was a complete disaster for me. It was to eCad/ePhasma2. I could not get any dice control opening hand and could not roll disrupt to control there resources. The other player lucked out and god rolled Cad to 3 ranged on both die and special on both Phasma die allowing them to eliminate Thrawn round 1. My opening hand after Mulligan to try to get some control was both Buy Outs, Both probes, and rend..... So luck was fickle to me this game. I still love this deck. Though I am considering taking out 1 Fall Back and putting in 1 Local Garrison. What do you think.

@DarthSharn Cad/phasma is indeed a tough cookie. Tonight is the first time i actually get to test this deck, but it has already gotten a lot of updates. To my regret, i have begun taking the deck in another direction, exactly because of the fast, action cheating aggro decks that dominate this early meta. Cad/Phasma, Kylo/FN and Sabine/Poe all deal un-mitigatable damage, without giving us a chance to interact. Therefore all of our reactive answers loose their value.

For this reason, i have decided to include 1 Hound's Tooth and 2 Personal Shield, to try and be proactive with the shield generation. It might still not be enough, and i am considering adding cards like Dug in, Air Superiority, Armor Plating and more. I also am going to experiment with the Ace in the Hole - Crime Lord combo. I still its a bad combo. Ace in the hole is a dead card in this deck, without crime lord. And the Crime lord die is so easy to remove. But i have realised that we may actually not even have a chance against the fastest decks, without pulling some lucky wins out of our ass once in a while. Its a shame, but it at least needs testing. Also Crime Lord has become cheap enough that it doesnt relly bother me to trade for a set and see whats up.

Im going to put up an updated list at some point tonight or tomorrow, and then i wont update this list any more, or answer messages. I would invite you to follow me to the new thread at that point :)
