So after taking an extended break from Destiny I'm back to do good things with previously bad characters (or thought to be!). The last meta left me kind of meh and despite my best efforts Zeb failed me, so I waited until something new hit. With all kinds of great characters in this set I zeroed in on a few, in particular Cassian. Looking at making something with Finn in the last set I found the biggest issue with him was finding a good partner, at 16 he was just a point shy of pairing up well with the best mid point characters. Sadly so, since his dice are amazing and his ability is no slouch either. So enter Cassian, fitting perfectly with the colors to ambush the heck out of mill or any heavy removal deck.

It's not a hard concept to run the deck but it does take some piloting. My thought was to bypass as much removal to take down mill and other heavy removal decks like Aphra. Starting hand is best at one ambush weapon, hit and Run and Quick Draw. Slap it on Cassian, roll him in then Hit and Run Finn then resolve all that mess in their face. DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol is a must in this deck. I find they often focus on Cassian first though, so weight your upgrades more on Finn if you can help it. It's fast and deadly, much like Sabine or Cad but you often get to resolve both characters if the hand is right. ALWAYS resolve Cassians dice and do damage, even if it's on discard. I have found discard to be a powerful tool and with his free damage on it there's no need to reroll and hunt for the damage sides. More often you will discard something they need, even if it's for rerolls. With a healthy dose of healing, removal and second chance it will take them some work to chew through them and by that time they are usually done. This is the revised build but it still needs tweaking, I originally had Maz's vault but I found that I often didn't need that many resources. Since it nearly always claimed the Moisture Farm - Tatooine easily gave us that extra with Truce providing emergency funds.

Worst deck matchups so far are heavy defense/vehicle decks. Anything where Finns Indirect sides get filtered around. Health is decent enough but still beware Cad or Sabine burst. I debated putting Hyperspace Jump in this deck but I find Retreat is often enough and there's not a lot of wiggle room. Still evaluating!

So let me know what you think...is Finn the savior in Red hero we've all been looking for or is he the chump who gets stuck on bad side stories?
